About

Lady Janét R. Griffin is a prolific poetess living in Laurel, Maryland.   Her volumes of poetry reflect a journey of emotional discovery by an African American woman experiencing the death of three of her children, the disintegration of many years of marriage, and an ultimate path of spiritual renewal.  Her heroic struggle is alive in the pages of her volumes. Her voice of pain, rage,  and great spirit of empathy is echoed again and again.  There is simplicity in language, and candid moments of introspection that the reader can see, feel, and experience. Each volume of poems is an inspiring revelation of the strength of the human soul.

Lady Janét won first place in the Middle Atlantic Writer’s Association for poetry writing in 1985, and she has received letters of commendation from several renowned writers, including Drs. Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, and Frederick Douglas Harper.
